Some of you have asked me about how I use my pocket watercolor set to paint sketches in my sketchbook. If that is you, this is the post you have been waiting for…
Materials for Watercolor Sketching
You will need a water handle brush. There are a couple that work great. I found this post with a review of a few different brushes.
I also use this sketchbook. It has a slightly heavier paper than other books I’ve found. It stays open when you draw in it, and you can draw across the gutter. You can get watercolor sketchbooks too so don’t be afraid to experiment with different books. After all sketchbooks are for that kind of thing.
So thats what I’m using.
Now to find out how I use it all…
After I build up the watercolor enough I sometimes go back in and use colored pencils to finish it off. I’ll have a video about that next week.
Do you guys have any questions about using watercolor in your sketchbook? I’d also love to hear how some of you work with watercolor too. Comment below.
